The author spends great effort in revealing the myths of a secular world view that are aided by the influence of entertainment through both movies and music, instant news and information, popular culture, and the lure of the American Dream. None of these aspects of this secular world view can offer any sustaining answers or remedies to cure what ails society. Against this backdrop of cultural reality, the author encourages and challenges the church to be the church, swayed and influenced not by popular culture, but by the Truth of God’s Word. The Bible offers a view of the world that is different from that of today’s culture. It offers a different view of reality and truth. The author fills the content with quotes from many throughout history as well as using stories from his own family’s faith journey that make his positions personal to the reader. This is a well written book and one that every Christian should read. I strongly recommend this book.
